 What You Can Expect

Lake Gregory is a local reservoir situated in the city of Nuwara Eliya. It is a popular place for tourists to visit and enjoy some recreational activities. The lake was named after Sir William Gregory, in 1873, during the British era. The lake has an awesome view and the promenade is a best place to hang around.

Ramboda Falls is located on the main road from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy. The region is known for its stunning landscapes of highlands, mountain ranges, plains, and streams.

Single Tree Hill Mountain is one of the most panoramic vantage points of Nuwara Eliya which gives an extraordinary view of the city below where you could absorb the beauty of the Haggala Mountain, Pidurutalagala range, Lake Gregory, and the whole of the northern slice of the Horton Plains. A traveler would have a wonderful time walking up the hill in the midst of the immaculate Nuwara Eliya atmosphere.

The Hakgala Botanical Garden is the second-largest botanical garden in Sri Lanka. It is a part of the Hakgala Strict Nature Reserve and was established in 1861. It has a wide variety of plants and some exotic animal species with the entire garden divided into different sections, dedicated to different plant species

Lover's Leap Falls

The Lover’s Leap is a beautiful waterfall nestled amongst the tea plantation hills. Tourists can visit this place when they visit the Pedro Tea Estate since the waterfalls are nearby. The waterfall has many myths and stories associated with it, which makes it even more exciting and attractive.

Boburu Ella

One of the nicest waterfalls in the hill country with some breathtaking views.which cascades down to a height of about 50 m is awe-inspiring. Bomburu Ella is another beautiful creation of Mother Nature  This path is laid through a beautiful area with lots of trees and cold breeze. Bomburu Ella is located at the boarder of Nuwara Eliya and Badhulla districts. This is the widest waterfall in Sri Lanka.

Mount Pidurutalagala, or Mount Pedro, is the tallest mountain on the island, rising 2524 meters tall. It is surrounded by a forest reserve that’s home to an array of flora and fauna, including many endemic species. Piduruthalagala  should be in your bucket list in Sri Lanka journey. It’s always great to visit this place on the sunny and clear day, certain things are not clear when it’s covered and surrounded by the cloudy mist.  

Victoria Park in Nuwara Eliya, named after Queen Victoria’s 60th jubilee and built-in 1897, has 27 acres. The place where most prominent travellers, especially holidaymakers, nevermore abandon to visit and enjoy the beautifully set out gardens with the colourful flora and fauna maintained beautifully by the City Council.

The British built a red brick building according to the Tudor technique and a two-storied structure with a clock spire in 1984. This building is in the centre of Nuwara Eliya town and is one of the oldest buildings in Sri Lanka.
